Eastercon Lite

If you’re a first timer, very busy or watching your finances you may feel that attending Eastercon for the whole weekend is just too much of a time and money commitment.

For all of you, there’s another way – and that is to buy a day attending membership for either Saturday or Sunday, which includes an online (virtual) membership. This costs £50 in all (plus £5 if you park in the convention centre car park) and you’ll get:

  • A full day and evening of in person programme and socialising
  • Access to the convention Discord server before, during and after the convention weekend. It’s a great place to make connections with other fans and have discussions of live programme items.
  • Almost all programme items* from the whole weekend streamed live via RingCentral Events and available to watch later on catch-up. We take questions from the online audience as well as the in person audience.

*Excluding some items such as workshops, launches and parties that are unsuitable for streaming

You can even decide to attend at the very last minute as memberships will be available to buy or upgrade on the door, but if you haven’t already bought a virtual membership, you’ll have missed some of the action on Discord. To get the most out of a virtual membership, we suggest having it in place at least a week before the Easter weekend so you can join in with the online social events we’ll be hosting during the run-up.

So – which day to attend?

Saturday is the big day for cosplay, costumes on the theme of Science & Industry or just plain dressing up. We expect to schedule the BSFA Awards and various launch parties plus Guest of Honour interviews with Jackie Burns and Tade Thompson, and there’s the Glasgow in 2024 pub quiz in the evening.

On Sunday we expect to have Guest of Honour interviews with Genevieve Cogman and Michelle Sagara, the George Hay Lecture, a wealth of panels and workshops and the Fan Funds auction in the evening. You’ll also hear from next year’s Eastercon and get a sneak peek of a rather special programme item to be run at Worldcon.

See you there!
